Teen Wolf Got Me Through It

The last couple of years have been hard on my family. My dad lost his battle with cancer in 2008 and it broke my mom. She has been to three mental hospitals, four therapist and one month long stay in rehab (missing my birthday.) She has had several tries at suicide during long periods of depression. It hard on both myself and my little brother because she is the only parent we have left and she doesn’t seem to want to try to do that anymore.

A week into the second season of Teen Wolf my mom got rid of our dog. She did this without telling anyone really, my brother came home and the dog was gone. I was devastated. And two weeks later she overdosed on her medication. She refused treatment from the hospital after they had cleaned her system and refused to speak to me about what she had clearly attempted to do. It ruined the fragile relationship I had built with her after previous attempts and betrayals of trust.

Teen Wolf got me through it.

I don’t have a single episode or moment to point to, but the show pulled me through one of the hardest months I had in years. It pulled me out of the funk and kept me excited and interested. The weeks were less bleak and it gave me something to focus on when it felt like my family was falling apart again.

Teen Wolf now holds a place in my heart next to Studio Ghibli and Classic Disney as movies that have pulled me through a horrible thing. In return I try to give back to the fandom. I write fan fiction when I can and tried out for the walk on roll.

The cast and crew may never know that they helped me through this. But I do. And so does the fandom now.

A life changing Journey

Hello, My name is Lindsay (@ilovetylerpose2)

About a year, i got home from a normal day at school and my mom was on the ground with pills next to her and a note so we called the police and they helped her but after that she had to go to a rehab center because she had been drinking and stuff so she was gone for a couple months and now she is somewhere else away from us because she wants a divorce from my dad. The only thing that has gotten me through all of this is teen wolf, and the cast, crew and Matt! I seriously don’t know what I would do without them.

I had started watching Teen Wolf on the day it premiered ( June 5th) . I remember I was in Orlando on a vacation and I was hooked from the start!

Since the day i found my mom, many of the Teen Wolf cast and crew followed, tweeted, or Dmed me such as Tyler Posey, Colton, Jeff, Matt, Stephen, Gage, Sinqua, Orny, Eaddy, Jr, Melissa, Jeff Rose, Adam, and more. Once they started to tweet and follow me, I started to feel like part of the family and that’s when things started to become amazing for me.

About halfway through season 2 Shannon ( @swiftchick13) and I decided to make a tinychat where we could talk about the episode that was just on and other fans could join as well. The chat ended up being so much fun that we started to do them every day. I became closer to many of them such as, Shannon, Paige (@ayeeitspaigej), Mya (LOVEdylanobrien), and Nick (@Volcanicks). All five of us had watched your videos and we thought it would be really cool to do something similar for Dylan’s birthday. We didn’t want to copy you or anything, we just thought it would be fun. So, that night we made up our own Happy Birthday Dylan O’brien version of Call Me Maybe. We thought that it would be super cool to get a bunch of fans to send in pictures and things like that. That’s when we decided to go to Matt. All we asked was if he would like to be in the video to wish Dylan a happy birthday. Instead, he decided that he would get some cast members to be in the video and he ended up RTing our tweet from the MTVteenwolf account. Our twitters exploded with amazing fans who wanted to be part of the video. We also were lucky enough to get Keahu and Eaddy in the video. Along with others like you two! Anyway, Dylan watched our video and commented on it on his youtube account! Since then the video has over 14 thousand views!

To me, that video is what changed my Teen Wolf journey completely. It was like, luck was on my side now! A month later, I was lucky enough to be able to fly to NY and go to NYCC!! In two weeks time, I found the money to go and I flew out just to meet Jeff and Tyler. While I was there, I was lucky enough to meet you two who are extremely sweet by the way. I also got to meet my heroes, Jeff Davis and Tyler Posey and of course the lovely Seana! I had about 3 minutes with them all together, but I promise you that those 3 minutes were the greatest 3 minutes in my entire life. I had waited 2 years for that moment and when it finally came, I could not believe it. It was like I finally had my chance to thank them for what they have done for me!

Since that day (October 13th, 2012) My luck has continued. Every day, Teen Wolf does something new for me. Things like this. Shannon, her friend Kayla and I decided to make Crystal Reed a birthday video, and guess what! She ended up watching it as well. I don’t know if you have seen my tweets, but I am OBSESSED with Crystal and to find out that she knows who I am now is just insane! I am truly so thankful for Matt and the ENTIRE Teen Wolf cast and crew.

Over the past two years, I have been through the hardest times of my life, but Teen Wolf has given me the best times of my life as well. I have been lucky enough to meet some of my heroes, some of the cast now know me, and I have met truly amazing people along the way. Kaiti and Amanda, you guys were so sweet to me and when we met, I felt so welcome and loved by you guys. I thank you for that. I also got to meet (Not in person… yet)  Shannon Grimes, who I skype basically everyday and we are great friends now, her friend Kayla who I love as well, Paige who I would do anything for! We are so similar in so many ways. I have met so many other amazing fans as well and it’s all because of this little MTV show that could! I could never repay the Cast, Crew, and fans for everything that they have done for me, but I just hope you all know that I love you all so much and hope you all get a chance to experience a journey like I have.

I Love you all very much! (Couldn’t fit everything on the picture but you guys get the point ;P )

A New Experience

I started watching Teen Wolf when the 2nd season was at episode 6, though i didnt know that when I started it. My friend, Skylar, was over on a Friday night and us being the CRAZY party animals we are, we were sitting on my couch looking through Netflix for a movie. We came across Teen Wolf and looked at each other. We knew the acotrs were hot and that a lot of people liked the show, but we were worried. We thought it was going to be a stupid show and that we were going to waste our time… boy were we wrong. That night we watched 6 of the 12 episodes available, then Saturday morning we wathced the other 6. We were insanely hooked on this show. All we wanted to do was watch more so we decided to look On Demand and see if it was on there. It was and we ended up watching all 5 episoes all Saturday.

Sunday passed and we couldn’t wait for it to come on Monday night. Skylar came over right after dance which ended at 8, we raced home watched the episode from the previous week, which we had just watched less then 48 hours ago, and then dove straight into the new one. After the experience of watching it live and following Teen Wolf blogs on my regular Tumblr I decided to make one special for Teen Wolf because everyone knew exactly what they were talking about, and the cute pictures are just a plus.

The Monday night screening became a tradition at my house. It was the same every week, but it kept us together at least once a week during the busy summer. Ever since that first episode i’ve been pretty infatuated with all the Teen Wolf boys especially Dylan O’Brein. I had watched his YouTube videos when I was younger and always knew about him but never really thought about it, but Teen Wolf made me realize how cute he is again. He’s honestly the model for my dream guy, and I just hope to meet them all some day.

The entire Teen Wolf cast and crew is so inspiring with following their dreams and making them become a reality. Teen Wolf not only brought me closer to my friends, but has kept me going through rough times in my life. Re watching episodes and watching your guys’ videos always makes me smile and remember the good in life. Thanks so much!

My Teen Wolf Experience

Unfortunatly I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting any of the cast members, although I hope one day I will. And I might not have a big teen wolf experience but what I do have means a lot to me. I have those Monday nights with my mom where we just sit down and watch an awesome show. I get to share my thoughts on each episode with my aunt who got into the show because she knows I love it so much and now we share this special bond. My cousin, another big fan of the show, gave me Dylan O’Brien related Christmas presents because she knows my love for him as an actor and as a person. It’s these little things that I cherish so much and I thank Jeff Davis and everyone involved in Teen Wolf for their hard work and their amazing show.
